Relief From Stress
Problems with stress often arise when we’re faced with difficult circumstances over a prolonged period. Even the strongest of us can be worn down to the point where we lose faith in our ability to exert control over our own lives, be this at work or at home. If we can only ever see our situation getting worse and feel there's no way out then our unconscious mind interprets this as a threat to our survival and fires off our body's automatic defences, our fight or flight response. Over a period of time this leads to increased physical tension, loss of appetite, disturbed sleep patterns, etc.
Of course, through conditioning we've learned that fighting or running for safety are no longer appropriate responses in our complex, modern society. Instead we do our best to endure the situation, perhaps trying ever harder to dig our way out, often with just the opposite effect.
Through Cognitive Hypnotherapy we'll work together and help you rediscover those strengths and abilities you may feel you've lost, and we'll probably discover one or two new ones that you weren't aware you had. It may seem difficult to accept at the moment but all this could happen more quickly than you might imagine.
With renewed confidence you'll be able to see your circumstances more objectively and your options will become clear. We'll continue working together only until you're fully capable of taking the practical steps needed to get yourself unstuck and able to move forward in a way that is acceptable to you.
